Logistics+ Helps GE Set Inventory Turns Record
GE Transportation Systems announced an historic result in their record year of 1999. Not only was it a year of record production, with over 911 locomotives produced, but the inventory turns established a record not only for GETS, but for all of GE's manufacturing businesses.
Logistics+ is proud of the part we played in helping GETS manage that ever lengthening supply chain. As more and more suppliers are found overseas, the logistics of getting the parts to production, just in time, thereby eliminating costly inventory and increasing inventory turns, gets more complex. The Logstics Plus team in the GETS Routing Center handled this new challenge in their typical can-do way.
As GETS becomes even more global, our international team of logistics professionals will continue to manage the supply chain from door to door, whether it be from Indiana or India, from Pittsburgh or Prague, from Montreal or from Moscow.
ABC-NACO Selects Logistics+ to Manage Wheel Program
ABC-NACO, Inc. and Gunderson Rail Services entered into a long-term contract with a major US railroad--an industry first--to perform all freight car wheel mounting and repair and wheel maintenance service for the company, which has a 128,000 car fleet. This will double the wheelset output of both ABC-NACO and Gunderson Rail Services.
Logistics Plus was selected as the 3PL provider for this historic project enabling a seamless transition in November.
