Total Performance Systems CD-ROM

This CD-ROM, introducing a major new GE product line, won BMA Gold and Bronze Tower awards based on both design and results.

Live actors come to life and walk around the screen, explaining the new product line's benefits to three different target audiences. The look and feel of the CD coordinates with an entire campaign, including printed brochures and magazine ads. The CD is designed to be engaging and interesting for first-time viewers, while at the same time serving as an efficient information resource that users will keep on hand and refer to regularly.

An Interactive Catalog guides the user through the process of choosing GE products that work together as a cost effective system. Instead of reading through long charts of technical info, the user simply follows the gold arrow and chooses from the options shown. To keep the choices simple, only the options that are electrically possible are shown at each stage of the process. The final result is a complete, printable report on the cost, energy usage and lighting quality of the "Total Performance System" that the user has designed. An existing Visual Basic product database was given a new front end and used in a new way as part of this CD.

Star Performers CD-ROM Series

Two similar CD-ROMs were released for use as a presentation tool by GE reps, as well as for potential customers to use on their own.

Animated glowing stars with subtle musical effects that respond to the mouse pointer's movement make the interface more fun and encourage the user to explore.

A menu of featured products leads to additional information. GE reps can access a hidden feature of the CD via a secret key command: they can replace part of the CD presentation with their own PowerPoint content to customize their material as needed. Morgan Adams created a PowerPoint template to insure that custom content blended with the rest of the CD-ROM, while allowing reps to use the tool they were familiar with.
